Manitou Springs Street News is an independent journalism collective from Manitou Springs, Colorado. We will strive to cover stories that get passed over by the papers. Criteria include, but are not limited to, controversial subject matter, suppressed and marginalized voices, and items generally considered too trivial for news. This is a weird place, and we hope to bring the weird news.

Our Woodland Park High School, Manitou Springs High School, and Cheyenne Mountain High School community is looking for host families for Foreign Exchange Students for Academic Year 2016-2017. We hope to select host families and students by March 2016. Students will arrive in August 2016. Hosting is a special opportunity to share our community with a visiting teen and to expose your family to new languages, customs and cultures. The latter is extremely important as we prepare our kids for a 21st-century workforce. Exchange students are 15-18 years old, come from 25 countries across Europe and Asia, are fully insured and bring their own spending money. You provide room and board, and will hopefully embrace the student as a member of your family. High Schools work with multiple exchange organizations including EF Foundation for Foreign Study EF High School Exchange Year, the leader in high school exchange.
