About Us

Manitou Springs Street News is an independent journalism collective from Manitou Springs, Colorado.  We will strive to cover stories that get passed over by the papers.  Criteria include, but are not limited to, controversial subject matter, suppressed and marginalized voices, and items generally considered too trivial for news.  This is a weird place, and we hope to bring the weird news.

Carnivale is one day when we take our masks off and act the way we really are.
The news in Manitou comes in a few different forms, and we are going to cover all that we can without committing libel or slander.  We hope to present resident, visitor and government perspectives.

**Views expressed in interviews do not necessarily express the editorial views of Manitou Springs Street News.  We will do our best to cover opposing viewpoints whenever possible.

  2. This is Scott Harrison at KRDO-TV. I'm trying to reach businessman Manny Quintana for a story today about congestion in town. If you know how to reach him, please have him call me at 209-3259. Thanks!

  3. BRING THE WORLD TO YOU AND HAVE A DRAMATIC INFLUENCE SHAPING A POSITIVE IMAGE OF AMERICA ABROAD. Our Woodland Park High School, Manitou Springs High School, and Cheyenne Mountain High School community is looking for host families for Foreign Exchange Students for Academic Year 2016-2017. We hope to select host families and students by March 2016. Students will arrive in August 2016. Hosting is a special opportunity to share our community with a visiting teen and to expose your family to new languages, customs and cultures. The latter is extremely important as we prepare our kids for a 21st-century workforce. Exchange students are 15-18 years old, come from 25 countries across Europe and Asia, are fully insured and bring their own spending money. You provide room and board, and will hopefully embrace the student as a member of your family. High Schools work with multiple exchange organizations including EF Foundation for Foreign Study EF High School Exchange Year, the leader in high school exchange. To express interest in hosting and taking advantage of this great cultural exchange opportunity, call or email Gary Brovetto, International Exchange Coordinator for EF High School Exchange, at 719-460-0355 or email gbrovetto@gmail.com. Gary has hosted 8 students during the last 4 years and can share his experiences with you. He states that hosting is at the top of his most rewarding life experiences and has given him the opportunity to make many new international friendships.
